Day 1 of The Music House Summer Program is designed to introduce students to the collaboration process in a studio setting. Students will hear from industry professionals’ experiences and processes, and then students will have the opportunity to create their first song collectively as a cohort. Students will collectively share experiences, thoughts, and ideas to come up with a theme for the song to be created, and then students will break into groups to assist with different parts of the song creation process, alongside our expert mcntors.
-
Day 2 of The Music House Summer Program begins the students hearing the finalized version of the record they created on Day 1. Students will have the opportunity to critique the record, and this discussion will facilitate a conversation surrounding how to effectively share your voice through music. Our Industry Experts & Mentors will share their own personal experiences and advice surrounding how they authentically share their voices in music. Students will then collectively create another record together, alongside the Mentors & Executive Team.
-
After listening to the finalized song from Day 2, Day 3 will see students learning how to use their voice to create impact through music. Students will work with mentors to create a “Why” statement focusing on the impact they desire to create in the world. Students will then jump into their third and final song creation of the week, working alongside fellow students to try to incorporate their individual “why” into the collective message of the song.
-
After a week of self-discovery and creative collaboration, Day 4 will serve as a day of reflection on the individual and collective development the students have engaged in. Students will hear back all 3 songs that were created throughout the week, and students will have an opportunity to work alongside Mentors to learn how to share these songs with the world. Students will learn how to connect music with the world around them to actualize the impact they desire to create.
